
Nurture Nest, a child development centre run under the supervision of Bangladesh Psychiatric Care Limited, was launched at a programme at Dhanmondi in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Presided over by chairman of the institution, Professor Dr Hedayetul Islam attended as chief guest while Professor Dr MA Salam, managing director of the Nurture Nest Dr ASM Morshed delivered a welcome speech at the inaugural ceremony, said a press release.
Noting the need for this centre, located on the seventh floor of the Shimanta Sambhar Shopping Complex, psychiatrist Dr MSI Mallick, the visionary of Nurture Nest, delivered a directional speech.
Professor Dr Jhunu Shamsunnahar, Professor Dr Md Faruk Alam, Professor Dr Md Nizam Uddin, Brigadier General (retd) Professor Dr Kamrul Hasan, Professor Dr Nahid Mahijabin Morshed, Dr Md Mahbubur Rahman, Professor Dr Mohsin Ali Shah, anong others, were present at the event.
BPCL is the first private one-stop consultation centre in the country that has been providing mental health services since 2021.
At Nurture Nest, specialist doctors will provide diagnosis, counselling, care and therapeutic services to children with special needs facing developmental and behavioural problems according to the severity of the disease. In addition, there will be special training for the parents or caregivers of such children, added the press release.
