
An eight-day theatre festival, organised by the training department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, will end on Friday at National Theatre Hall in Dhaka.
The festival comprised a selection of 16 theatre productions from eight divisions which was created at a 15-day production-based theatre workshop conducted nationwide.
The festival displayed two theatre productions every day at the same venue.
On the closing day, Khulna Shilapakala Academy will stage their theatre production ‘Borabhoy’, written and directed by Tanvir Nahid Khan while Bandarban district Shilpakala Academy will stage ‘Choingja Khrang’, written and directed by Subir Mohajan.
On Thursday, Habiganj district Shilpakala Academy staged their production ‘Kobor Kinbha Shmoshaner Golpo’, written and directed by Shahin Rahman while Barishal district Shilpakala Academy staged ‘Apurba Gomasta Wrik’, written and directed by Mayajaal at the event.
The festival was inaugurated on February 21 with Rangpur district Shilpakala Academy’s production ‘Chinna Mukut’, an adaptation of Satyajit Ray’s film Hirak Rajar Deshe, directed by Md Lahul Mia and Jamalpur district Shilpakala Academy’s production ‘Postmortem’, written and directed by Fahim Maleque Evan.
