The first-ever Diplomatic Badminton and Table Tennis Tournament is scheduled to begin at the premises of International School Dhaka in the Bashundhara residential area in the city on Friday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh organising this two-day-long tournament aiming to strengthen cultural and diplomatic relations with the other countries across the world.
This event will pave the way for healthy competition, cultural exchange, and interpersonal ties among members of the diplomatic and international community in Bangladesh.
Over a hundred Dhaka-based diplomats, representing embassies, high commissions, and international organisations, will come together through taking part in this tournament, an initiative of ‘diplomacy through sport.’
The participants will compete in the singles and doubles events of table tennis, while only the doubles event will be held in badminton.
