The department of fashion studies at BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology organised the Leather Craft Exhibition 2025 on the BUFT campus in Dhaka on Thursday.
The exhibition was arranged following the completion of a workshop on leather product design and craftsmanship held from November 14, 2024 to February 20, 2025, with the participation of 65 students, said a press release on Friday.
Professor Md Alamgir Hossain, treasurer of BUFT; Uttam Kumar Roy, associate professor at the Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology, University of Dhaka; and Mohammad Imtiaj, director of public relations at BUFT were present as guests at the exhibition.
The workshop was coordinated and conducted by Fahima Akhter, lecturer of the department of fashion studies, in collaboration with experts from the Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology, University of Dhaka.
Under their direct supervision, students received hands-on training in creating various leather products, highlighting the BUFT’s commitment to practical and industry-oriented education.
