Writer and left politician Badruddin Umar in a statement on Thursday announced that he would not accept Independence Day award.
Badruddin Umar, president of the Jatiya Mukti Council, said that from 1973, different governments and organisations had offered him awards but he did not accept any of them.
‘I thank the interim government for nominating my name for the award. But it would not possible for me to accept it,’ he mentioned.
